A Balaton-part e különlegesen szép fekvésű faluja idős erdőt is rejt a községhatáron belül, a Majális-dombon. A fáslegelő-maradványt érdekessé teszik a szúróscsodabogyó-cserjék.
Az erdő idős csertölgyei formájukkal, méreteikkel a fás legelőn eltöltött évtizedeikről mesélnek. A törzsekre csavarodó karvastag törzsű borostyán függönyei és a széles, elterpeszkedő koronák megkapó látványt nyújtanak. Az erdő alján a szúrós csodabogyó egyik talán legészakibb előfordulása jelzi a terület enyhe – az alant húzódó vízfelület kiegyenlítő hatásait is élvező – szubmediterrán jellegű klímáját. Az aprócska erdő egy mondat erejéig szerepel a Parkerdők Magyarországon című, 1981-es kötetben: „Visszajövet a majálisdombig a már megtett úton haladjunk. Jobbra térve 25 perces sétát tehetünk a környék borostyánnal átszőtt erdejében.”

- A Szigliget, Iskola buszmegállótól a Kossuth Lajos utcán a Hóvirág utcáig megyünk, arról jobbra a P jelzésre fordulunk, ami bevezet az erdőbe (0,6 km, 17 m szintemelkedés).
Parking
- A Szabadság utca végén vagy a Rózsahegyi utca végén parkolhatunk (utóbbinál nagyobb placc várja az autókat), mindkettő az erdőterületet átszelő P jelzés mentén van.
