A szentendrei Péter-Pál-templom tornya

1791-ben épült a görögkeleti szerb felekezetnek. 528 négyzetméteres területével és 32 méter magas tornyával Szentendre legnagyobb temploma. Az 1940-es évek óta tartozik a katolikusokhoz, akik belsejét saját hitük szerint alakították át.

Szentendre legnagyobb temploma is eredetileg a görögkeleti szerb felekezet számára épült 1791-ben, emiatt ismert Csiprovacska-templom néven is. A szerbek kivándorlásával a 20. század elején a késő barokk templom használaton kívülivé vált, a felekezet az épület berendezését is magával vitte, ikonosztázionja egy koszovói templomba került.

A templom végül az 1940-es évek elején került a katolikus felekezethez, akik felújíttatták az épületet. 32 méter magas tornyát gúlasisak fedi. Kőkapui 1790-ben készültek, és gazdag faragásokkal díszítettek. Alapterülete 528 négyzetméter, ami a gyakorlatban azt jelenti, hogy 500 főt képes befogadni. Belseje puritán, fehérre festett, freskói nincsenek. Oltárát Péter és Pál apostolok szobrai, a Húsvéti Bárány című kerámiaalkotás és egy szilfa Mária-szobor díszíti.

Directions

A HÉV-, illetve autóbusz állomástól induljunk el észak felé, a Dunával párhuzamosan. Keresztezzük a főutat, majd a Kossuth Lajos utcán sétáljunk a Bükkös-patakig. A híd után balra tartva kanyarodjunk a Kucsera Ferenc utcába, amelynek túlsó végén láthatjuk a templomot (650 m).

Parking

Parkolni a Duna Korzó kijelölt parkolóiban lehet, a patak fölött átívelő Apor-híd mindkét oldalán, illetve a környező utcákban (mind fizetős).
