Das Schloss in Kärnten ist ein historisches Schloss aus dem 13. Jahrhundert, bekannt für seine mittelalterliche Architektur und seine Lage. Ein bedeutendes Kulturenkmal der Region.
Im 14. Jahrhundert erstmals erwähnt als Hof der Familie Wucherer zu „Rotenstain pey sand Görgen“, taucht der Besitz dann 1580 wieder in einer Urkunde der Äbtissin Afra von Staudach als Eigentum des Nonnenklosters St. Georgen am Längsee auf. Unter Kaiser Josef II. wurde das Kloster 1783 geschlossen und der Kärntner Eisenindustrielle und Gewerke Maximilian Thaddäus Graf von Egger kaufte das Stift mit den Besitzungen. Am ehemaligen Hof in Rottenstein erbaute Egger einen Sommersitz für seine Gattin Gabriele Oktavia Maria Josepha, geborene Freiin von Pinelli. Der Enkel und Erbe Gustav Graf von Egger ließ 1868 um das Schloss und seine Nebengebäude einen weitläufigen Naturpark im englischen Stil errichten, der von einer 1100 Meter langen Mauer umgeben ist. Der Wiener Architekten Rudolf Bayer erhielt den Auftrag, einen Landedelsitz mit einem eigenen Badehaus und einer Schlosskapelle zu errichten.
