A lépcsők aljában az egykori Rodostó turistaházat találjuk, a tetején pedig a Czinka Panna-pihenő és egy esőház várja a kifulladt túrázókat. A lépcsősor mentén a növényzet mellett hatalmas bazalttornyok és törmeléklejtők vonják el a figyelmet a mászás (vagy ereszkedés) fáradalmairól.
1935-ben Rákóczi-emlékévet tartottak a kuruc vezér halálának 200. évfordulójára, ekkor épült a Rodostó turistaház és a lépcső is, innen ered tehát a pihenőhelyek és a lépcső elnevezése is – a menekülésre kényszerült kurucok után. A lépcső tetejétől nem messze található a Tördemici-kilátóhely a K▲ jelzés mentén, ahonnan tökéletes kilátás nyílik a szomszédos tanúhegyre, a Szent György-hegyre.

- A vasútállomástól egyenesen a Ranolder, majd a Turista utcán a S jelzést követve csatlakozhatunk a Kéktúra K jelzésére, amin egyenes irányt tartva érjük el a lépcső alját (2 km, 191 m szintemelkedés).
- A parkolóból induljunk fölfelé, az utca végén találjuk a P jelzést. Ezen balra fordulva jutunk el a lépcső alá (1,2 km, 38 m szintemelkedés).

- A Kisfaludy-háznál fizetős parkolóban hagyhatjuk az autót.
