The “Monastery Route Worms-Metz” connects Rheinhessen, Palatinate, Saarland and Lorraine. It follows an “old path”, the former trade route of the Celts and Romans. Since August 2011 it has been continuously marked with yellow arrows and the so-called European scallop as a signpost. The Monastery Route starts in Worms and meets the northern route of the Palatine St James trail in Landstuhl.

The origin of pilgrimages to Santiago de Compostela dates back to the 7th century and is connected to the tradition that James the Greater preached in Spain. With the revival of the Way of St. James in the Göllheim and Eisenberg municipal associations, a connection to the European network is established. As part of the monastery route from Worms to Metz, the Way of St. James in this section runs over a length of about 14 km from Göllheim to Eiswoog. It leads from the center of Göllheim via Kerzweiler and Rosenthalerhof to Stauf, from there continuing via Ramsen to Eiswoog. The Way of St. James is signposted with the shell motif and additionally, as is customary in Spain, with a yellow arrow.

As part of the monastery route from Worms to Metz, the Jakobsweg runs through the Winnweiler collective municipality for about 14 km from Steinbach am Donnersberg to Wartenberg-Rohrbach. It leads from Steinbach past Hahnweilerhof and Imsbach through the Winnweiler district of Alsenbrück through Lohnsfeld to Rohrbach. It is marked with the shell motif and additionally, as is customary in Spain, with a yellow arrow.

Sehr schöne Etappe der Klosterroute von Worms nach Metz. Lediglich die 3 Kilometer von Lohnsfeld nach Wartenberg entlang der Hauptstraße sind etwas unschön. Dafür wird man durch lange und ruhige Waldwege entschädigt. Die Abteikirche in Otterberg fühlt sich an wie ein "kleines Santiago". Sehr zu empfehlen!!
