Zell: On the Way of St. James to Standenbühl (VG Göllheim)
The origin of pilgrimages to Santiago de Compostela is in the 7th century and is associated with the tradition that James the Greater preached in Spain. With the revival of the Way of St. James in the Verbandsgemeinde Göllheim, a connection to the European network is established. As part of the Monastery Route from Worms to Metz, the Way of St. James runs in the Verbandsgemeinde Göllheim over a length of 22 km and from Zell to Standenbühl. It leads via Harxheim, Bubenheim, Ottersheim, Biedesheim, Gundheimer Hof, Göllheim, Dreisen and Münsterhof to Standenbühl and is marked with the shell motif and additionally, as customary in Spain, with a yellow arrow.

Especially in autumn, you should also be aware that fallen leaves on the ground can conceal unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or heavy rain, trees can still fall or branches fall down afterward. Especially in adverse weather conditions, there can be muddy and slippery sections on natural paths. Not all rocks or precipices are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is required in places. You must expect such path impairments when taking a hike. If you believe certain sections are impassable for you, you should bypass them.
NOTE:
We strive to announce all closures caused by forestry work or hunting associations on this platform. Nevertheless, there are situations where hiking trails are closed and we may not have been informed. If you unexpectedly come across a trail closure or detour, please follow the instructions for your own safety.
