From the Taschachhaus, head southwest on the red-marked path down to the Sexegertenbach. This is crossed and you follow the Offenbacher Höhenweg uphill to the junction with the Fulda Höhenweg. Here you keep left and continue uphill, passing the "Eiskasten", reaching the ridge height and finally the Wurmtaler Kopf (3226m). From there it goes down on the Riffelferner until you reach the red-marked trail again. On this, you walk along the Riffelbach downstream to the Riffelsee and further to the Riffelseehütte.
Author’s recommendation
Alternatively, the easier route via the Fulda Höhenweg to the Riffelseehütte can be chosen.

Safety information
Moderately difficult high alpine tour. Can be tricky when the icefield on the northwest side of the Wurmtaler Kopf is bare.Roadbook
From the Taschachhaus (2,434 m), head southwest on the red-marked path (No. 924) down to the Sexegertenbach. This is crossed via a footbridge; at the fork, keep right and follow the Offenbacher Höhenweg (trail No. 925) uphill until you reach the junction with the Fulda Höhenweg. Here, keep left and continue uphill below the Vorderes Köpfle (2,740 m) until you reach the "Eiskasten". From here, head north following the markers over the moraine terrain of the Vorderer Eiskastenferner, reach the ridge height and follow it westwards to the Wurmtaler Kopf (3,228 m), where there is also a bivouac shelter. This section can be bypassed via the ridge points 3,089 m and 3,199 m in case of tricky ice/rock conditions. Afterwards, go northward over a snow/ice field on the Riffelferner below the Wurmtaler Joch (3,119 m) down until reaching the red-marked trail (Offenbacher Höhenweg) again. Along this, walk alongside the Riffelbach downstream through the Riffeltal to the Riffelsee. It is circled on its south side, the Seebach is crossed until you finally arrive at the Riffelseehütte (2,289).
