The footpath that stretches right across the mountain, linking Passo Fedaia with Passo Pordoi, was once used by flour merchants from the Belluno area as a quicker and alternative route to the roads down in the bed of the valley. Flour, an essential ingredient for making bread, represented an excellent bargaining product and was bartered in the Ladin valleys for handcrafted goods, as well as for other products. It is precisely because of the little path’s original use that the existing route and mountain refuge are now called “Viel dal Pan”.

We have devised a new concept of comfort and relaxation for your stay in the mountains. Our six rooms, which sleep a total of 23 people and have been refurbished and furnished in the Tyrolean style, are divided into double rooms each, and double, triple and four-bedded rooms, sharing the use of two bathrooms per floor. All rooms have a breathtaking view of the sunset over the Dolomites, making your mountain rest unique and a once in a lifetime experience…… The kitchen is run personally by the owner and, while it boasts all the latest cooking technology, above all it offers a vast array of typical and traditional Ladin, Trentino and Tyrolean dishes. Special attention is paid to the choice of pure and genuine local produce, while there is always a huge selection of home-made cakes and desserts, especially the “ Omelette della nonna” , renowned throughout the Dolomites. Visitors here can abandon themselves to the pleasures of the palate…
