Gourmet hike in the radiance of the queen

The Bindelweg (Ladin »Vièl del Pan«, which means "bread path", an old grain trade route from Fassa to the Cordevole valley) is one of the great, fascinatingly beautiful high promenades of the Alps. On the peaceful meadow slopes of the Padòn ridge, you can walk for hours in the dazzling glacier glow of Queen Marmolada, an unforgettable experience for every nature lover! This splendor, basically alien to the Dolomites, is precisely what makes the walk so special.

From Canazei take the Belvedere cable car via the middle station to Belvedere. From there take a trail down a grassy ridge northeast to Rifugio Belvedere, 2338 m, and beyond up (on the left on a hill the Rifugio Sasso Bece) to Rifugio Fredarola, 2388 m. Now follow the Bindelweg (No. 601) in a long traverse of the grassy southern slopes of Col del Cuc gently upward to Rifugio Vièl dal Pan (also on some maps "Rifugio Vièl del Pan"), 2432 m. On a narrower trail, continuing alongside grassy slopes, below Sasso Capello, then up to the saddle east of Col de Pausa (Sellablick) and further upwards to a fork. Turn right and go south over meadows, then through light pine forest down. Later a rock face is crossed on a good path to the left (east). Finally, you reach the Fedaiastraße through forest in steep hairpin bends down to the northern end of the dam of Lago di Fedaia, 2044 m.
