Das Alpin- und Seminar-Center Glocknerhaus steht auf 2.132 m Seehöhe im Bereich der "Elisabeth-Ruhe", am Fuße des Großglockners, unmittelbar an der zur Franz-Josephs-Höhe führenden Großglocknerhochalpenstraße.
Das vom Fahrrad bis zum Bus aber auch mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln einfach erreichbare Schutzhaus, in unmittelbarer Nähe erstklassiger alpiner und hochalpiner Tourenziele, ist während der Befahrbarkeit der Großglockner Hochalpenstraße bewirtschaftet.
Es dient als Ausbildungs- und Fortbildungsstätte, Seminarzentrum, Stützpunkt für Bergsteiger, Bergwanderer und Skitouristen aber auch als Tagesziel für Ausflugsgäste. Der schöne Sternenhimmel lädt Astronomiebegeisterte zu nächtlichen Beobachtungen ein.
