Dom Pristava je bil zgrajen leta 1641 nad vasjo Javorniški Rovt in je zaradi zgodovinskega pomena zaščiten. Včasih je bila stavba namenjena nadzornikom rudarske proizvodnje in transporta železove rude, ki so jo kopali v okoliških hribih. Znamenit botanik Karel Zois si je v neposredni bližini uredil botanični vrt, danes poznan kot Zoisov park. V parku najdemo čudovita eksotična ter domača drevesa in tri jezerca, ki so polna življenja malih zanimivih živih bitij. V bližini se nahaja tudi znano nahajališče fosilov, 300 milijonov starih karbonskih kamnin.
Dom Pristava je odlična ciljna točka tako za družinske izlete kot pohodnike, gorske kolesarje in raziskovalce. Tu v bližini poteka kar nekaj zanimivih poti: NRUP - naravoslovna in rudarska učna pot Trilobit, turno kolesarska pot Trans Karavanke ter številne lokalne in planinske poti, ki vodijo na okoliške vrhove v Karavankah.
