Koroška Bela - Javorniški Rovt – Dom Pristava
The Gajšek path starts at Kres and connects the settlements of Koroška Bela and Javorniški Rovt. The mountaineering association named the path after their young, barely 26-year-old president, Alojz Gajšek, who tragically died together with three friends, mountaineer-skiers, on March 25, 1968, on Slemen below Mojstrovka.

Access to the starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Jesenice highway, take the Lipce exit and drive right towards Jesenice. At the first traffic light intersection (Javornik), turn right towards Ljubljana. Then follow the second traffic light intersection, where you turn left and drive under the railway underpass. At the next smaller intersection, turn right towards Koroška Bela. Drive past the last bus stop (a shop on the left) into the village. Find the intersection in the village center where there is a church monument. From here, follow the main road through the village, which barely noticeably slopes upwards towards the northeast. After about 100 m, notice a bridge on the right but continue straight for another 50 m, where you will find a left turnoff. Take that turn, and go uphill crossing another (Koroška) street, continuing (the church lower on the left) until you reach an area outside the settlement where you come across abandoned tennis courts (RC Kres).
Path description:
From the starting point, take the right path (track) uphill, where you will find trail markers. At the second right curve, you will see a barrier (quarry), then continue along the hill towards the forest, past the abandoned quarry on the left. The path soon leads into the forest, where it runs almost flat, initially straight, later beginning to meander. When you reach a fork, you will see a directional sign on a tree pointing left down towards a gully with a stream. Here you encounter a large pile of debris from a landslide, before which you cross the mentioned stream and turn left uphill where the path becomes somewhat narrower. You walk for a while through mixed, partly sparse forest and cross another gully with a stream. When you find yourself in a wider forest clearing (no longer on a slope), the markers guide you right uphill, where the path seems to disappear. Towards the "top" of this ascent, you spot the path again; the markers direct you left, where the path first flattens and then descends to a third stream, which you cross. The forest clearing opens slightly, and from the left, a climbing track joins (to the right a smaller, highly fenced clearing). Continue in the same direction uphill on the track. When it begins to turn right, continue on a second, narrower track leading straight. After some time, a path from Valvazor joins from the right, while ours levels out or slightly descends. When the flat path begins to turn right, take the left trail that leads to the bank of the Javornik stream, which you cross after a short descent over a wooden bridge. Turn left and soon step onto a forest road leading from the Trilobit Hut to an intersection with an asphalt road. Turn right uphill along it and follow it to a right bend, behind which on the left side of the road you will see a marked path leading into the forest. Step onto it and shortly after cross the forest road, from where you ascend another 10 meters uphill towards the asphalt road. After crossing it, climb slightly left over a meadow to the Pristava Hut in Javorniški Rovt.
