Die Braunberghütte ist auch Startplatz für Hängegleiter und beliebtes Ziel für Mountainbiker und Reiter. Mit dem Bergfilmfestival, Singabenden und Musikantenauftritten kommt auch die Kultur nicht zu kurz. Hüttenwirt Martin Neuhauser und sein Team servieren in der neuen Gaststube oder auf der Terrasse mit Sonnen-/Regenschutz gerne bodenständige Kost, also regionale und saisonale Schmankerl aus der Mühl- und Waldviertler Region: vom Schweinsbratl, über vegane Berglinsen bis zu Mohnnudeln, dazu klassische Hüttenjausen. Die Hütte hat 30 Schlafplätze, davon 11 Schlafplätze in 3 Zimmern. Seit 2018 ist die Hütte als Tagesausflugstätte behindertengerecht.

Rampe: die betonierte Rampe zum Eingang ist 1.45m breit mit 5 Grad / 8% Steigung, der Behinderten-WC-Zugang ist 1,50m breit mit 3 Grad / 5% Gefälle.
Durchgänge: die Eingangstüre Ost ist 90cm breit, die beiden Gastraumtüren 85cm. Nachdem die Ausgangstüre zur Terrasse nur 75cm breit ist, besteht die Möglichkeit, die Terrasse nördlich oder südlich der Braunberghütte über außen zu erreichen wie auch die Hiashütte und die Getränkeautomaten.
Rollstuhlfahrer, Krückengehen und Rollator-Geher dürfen bis zur Terrasse vorfahren.
Der Schlüssel für das Behinderten-WC ist beim Hüttenwirt an der Schank erhältlich.
