Sofia-Stadt is blessed with numerous scenic hiking trails that cater to all levels of hikers. One popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts is Vitosha Mountain which overlooks the city of Sofia. The mountain boasts diverse terrain ranging from gentle slopes to rugged peaks, making it ideal for various skill levels.
The Most Beautiful Hiking Trails
One of the most stunning hiking routes in Sofia-Stadt is the Boyana Waterfall Trail. This moderate hike takes you through lush forests and meadows before culminating at a majestic waterfall cascading down rocky cliffs. Another must-visit trail is the Dragalevtsi Monastery Pathway which winds its way through ancient woodlands and offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
Nice circular hike that boasts wonderful views on Sofia! Perfect for a sunny day as you walk a the circle around Dupevitsa summit mainly in the shade.
On Dupevitsa summit we found a little concrete platform, perfect for a break enjoying the stunning view!
I found the steep ascent on an widely overgrown path between km 4.4 and 5.7 a little challenging.
To my humble opinion, the long walk to Gorna Banya after completing the circle isn't really that interesting, I would rather go back to starting point at Cherniya Kos bus station.
