This route is a stage of Section ST5 of the Sultans Trail, an international long-distance hiking trail from Vienna to Istanbul. The hiking route follows historic roads through eight countries (Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey), linking towns and villages in a traditional cultural and historic landscape.
The route passes Cherni Vrah (Black Peak) before arriving at Yarlovo.
Nice and technically easy hike to Lyulin mountain's highest peak, Dupevitsa, starting from the "Kamping Cherniya kos" bus station (alternatively, from "V.Z. Lyulin" bus station) and ending at Gorna Banya subway station.
Technically easy and super beautiful, starting from and ending at the Gorna Banya subway station. It passes through forests, open fields ("Bonsovi polyani"), Gorna Banya monastery, and the Dupevitsa peak (the highest in the Lyulin mountain). It's amazing in autumn! It's a bit long, but the loop could be shortened, e.g. by just going to the monastery only.

Lovely, medium-difficulty, summer hike going through Vitosha mountain's highest peak, Cherni vrah (2290m). It's convenient to go either by public transport, or by car.

To Boyana church: take bus 64 to "Boyansko hanche" station.
From Zlatnite mostove: take bus 63 to Sofia, e.g. to the "Krasno selo" subway station.
Really good hike in Vitosha. Passes through multiple highlights.

Nice circular hike that boasts wonderful views on Sofia! Perfect for a sunny day as you walk a the circle around Dupevitsa summit mainly in the shade.
On Dupevitsa summit we found a little concrete platform, perfect for a break enjoying the stunning view!
I found the steep ascent on an widely overgrown path between km 4.4 and 5.7 a little challenging.
To my humble opinion, the long walk to Gorna Banya after completing the circle isn't really that interesting, I would rather go back to starting point at Cherniya Kos bus station.
