A mosaic landscape in nature, embedded: diverse fauna and flora, willow bushes, swamp areas and reed beds as well as the original floodplain animal landscape. The last refuge in France where the Rhine can spread freely during high water. Animals and landscape have adapted over centuries to these recurring natural events. For the hiker/enjoyer a unique experience. A hike for the whole family.

An easy hike through the Palatinate Forest. We start at Schlössel, a hidden gem for gourmet lovers, and follow the signs towards Gutenberg Ruin. Many options, including shortcuts, are offered to us. Those who want can visit the ruin, while the others continue the hike below Gutenberg towards the Weintor.
Returning through the vineyards, we reach Oberotterbach after about 4 hours.
This hike is also suitable as an extended Sunday walk. Well-trained young families can also take a stroller with them.
