Very nice, very short, very interesting, very informative! Because the route is so short, I recommend an extension of 2 km to about 5 km (then we also visit the beautiful Ulmerfeld market and the castle).

The completely flat hiking route almost matches the half marathon route marked by the Laufunion Ardagger.

Handbike tour with light electric assistance along the Danube Cycle Path from Passau to Vienna in 5 stages. The tour is generally easy to ride, on paved paths. In Engelhartszell, it’s better to take the left bank of the Danube; the right bank is hilly. There are some challenges before Grein, including two very steep sections ( approx. 10 meters). After Melk, when switching to the left bank of the Danube, there is a very steep climb up to the bridge (18%). The surfaces through the towns are often cobblestone. The ferries are accessible by handbike. However, the descent to the ferry is usually very steep on rough cobblestones. Two accompanying persons are usually necessary here.

The description on the information board at the corner of Laurenz-Dorrer-Straße/Eggersdorferstraße and the good signage are sufficient: Along the Mühlbach to Eggersdorf - cycle path to Kruppstraße - then to the ÖBB overpass and at the company Ötscher turn left back again under the bridge into Lewingstraße until crossing Preinsbacherstraße in Eisenreichdornach - past the fire station left to Agatha Church - past the hospital to Villenstraße - right to Berggasse - roundabout Ardaggerstraße - sidewalk to the parish church St. Stephan - following Jakobsbrunnenweg to Haaberg - at the end left to Waidhofnerstraße - ÖBB underpass - then straight back over Jahnstraße and Stadtwerkehaus via Mühlbachweg to the starting point.

The centerpiece of the Ybbstal cycle route is characterized by impressive natural experiences. A particularly fascinating section leads through the Ofenloch, an imposing gorge near Opponitz, and is one of the highlights of the newly opened section. This extends from Waidhofen an der Ybbs to Lunz am See and can be called the safest cycle path in Lower Austria. The route is distinguished by minimal gradients, absence of cars, generous lane width, and continuous railings, making it an ideal excursion destination for families and leisure cyclists.

Scenic circular route, mostly on paved, little-traveled service roads and short gravel roads - driven with the Swisstrac. Especially charming during the tree flowering season!
