A II. Lajos halála okán mindenki számára ismert Csele-patakon egykor 24 vízimalom működött, ezek közül egyedüliként maradt meg a ma Szent Miklós nevét viselő malom Mohácson. A török időkben a malmok jelentős része is elpusztult, mindössze négy tartotta magát a vészterhes időkben is. A 18. században szerb családok tulajdonában álltak a malmok, melyek közül a ma láthatót tulajdonosa, Vaszilije Popovics után a köznyelv Vászó malomnak hívta.

A molnárház a malom nyugati falához illeszkedik, itt készülnek a bevezetőben emlegetett ételek.

A tulajdonos elmondása alapán az erdélyi mesterek segítségével épített szerkezet Európa egyetlen ismert, működőképes, emberi erővel hajtott malomberendezése, amelyet egyébként bárki kipróbálhat - hamar a fitneszteremben fogja magát érezni a vállalkozó kedvű látogató. Itt a taposómalom őrlési célt szolgál, a teljes kiőrlésű lisztből sütik a kemencés lángost a háziak.
