A Geresdi-dombság mélyén, Bátaapáti közelében áll a titokzatos torony, ami a II. világháborúban kitelepített Üveghuta falunak állít emléket.

A Geresdi-dombságban járva, a Bátaapáti–Véménd–Feked háromszög középpontjában, az erdő mélyén érdekes harangtoronyra lelünk, amely a néhai Üveghuta emlékét őrzi. A torony hátoldalán márványtáblát helyeztek el, amelyen magyarul és németre fordítva ez áll: „Örök emlékként álljon itt e torony, őrizve Üveghuta nevét. A kitelepítés 60 éves évfordulójára. 1946–2006.”

A 150 fősre nőtt település manufakturális üvegipara nem tudta tartani a versenyt a nagyobb üveggyárakkal, ezért a 19. század végére a lakók átálltak a faiparra.

Bár Üveghutát szinte teljes egészében, nyom nélkül elnyelte a természet, a parányi réten a bátaapáti önkormányzat felújította és azóta is karbantartja a néhai templomhoz tartozó harangtornyot.

A harangtornyot a K◼ és K● jelzésű turistautak kereszteződésénél találjuk. Az elragadó hangulatú helyen, az árnyékban fedett, fából épült, cseréptetős pihenőhely is rejtőzik.
