Upper Carniola

Upper Carniola is, without a doubt, one of the best-known regions of Slovenia. It stretches from the Austrian border at Kranjska Gora and Jesenice, Bled and Kranj to the capital, Ljubljana. Framed by the Karavanke Mountains, the Kamnik Alps and the Triglav National Park, Upper Carniola is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. If you like to take it a little easier, you should definitely make a detour to Lake Bled and take a typical wooden boat (pletna) to the magical island. The Lake Bohinjsko and the Velika Planina high alpine pasture are also definitely worth a visit. Those interested in the culture of the region should spend an evening in Begunje and listen to the popular folk music of Slavko Avsenik.

    Schöne Tour - allerdings sehr viel Verkehr am Triglav. Wir sind die Tour in entgegengesetzter Richtung gegangen: 1. Tag Aufstieg Vodnikov Dom von P. Blato; 2. Tag Triglav und dann zur Prehadovic (sehr urige/schöne Hütte) - langer Tag! 3. Tag Prehadovic und Abstieg durch die 7Seen - hier können auch noch Zusatzgipfel gemacht werden

    1/3 von Ukanc nach Ribcev Laz sehr anspruchsvoll. Bike muss einmal getragen werden. Danach wird es immer besser. Je nach Fahrniveau kann man mehr oder weniger alles fahren. Mit etwas geübter Fahrtechnik muss man immer wieder etwas stossen, kommen aber auch auf ihre kosten. (wir sind nur bis Ribcev Laz gefahren)

    The route is nice from Bohinjska Bela to Bohinjska Bistrica. The part in Bled is very confusing and goes partly on the main road. Rather start in Bohinjska Bela. Also the signs from Bohinjska Bistrica to Lake Bohinj are quite confusing, especially, but the route itself is nice.

    I consider this an uneventful, almost boring trail. It’s definitely not challenging other than some sections which are a bit rocky or have exposed tree roots. No section was steep or dangerous. For me, too many tourists. The entrance fee is €4. The waterfall is about 75 meter high, but, because of the drought, not much water fell. Somewhat disappointing.

    Es sind viele Leute dort, das Parken ist etwas schwierig aber man findet dann doch einen Parkplatz am Ende. Der Weg bietet einen tollen Blick auf die umliegenden Felsen und Berge. Die Hütte hat im Sommer immer bei guten Wetter offen, es steht auch ein Schild vorne ob die Hütte offen hat am Anfang des Weges (Der Strudel dort ist sehr lecker, vor allem Walnuss / Bestellung muss am Häuschen abgegeben werden). Zurück haben wir einen kleinen Abstecher auf die linke Seite des Flusses gemacht und mittels Flussüberquerung wieder zurück auf den Schotterweg.
