Süßen lies on the eastern edge of the Swabian Forest and borders on the idyllic Filstal valley. The town is known for its picturesque half-timbered houses and the historic market square with the "Five Shields" fountain. In the surrounding area you will find numerous hiking trails through meadows, fields and forests - ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking or cycling.

Sights relevant to tourism include the local history museum of Süßen with a collection on the history of the town as well as a variety of events such as the traditional town festival or the Christmas market spectacle on the market square.

Cultural highlights include concerts in the Dieselstraße cultural centre or theatre performances in the old gymnasium. For gourmets, we recommend a visit to Metzger Rauscher - here you can enjoy regional specialities.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the seasons spring to autumn are particularly suitable: Here you can paddle along the Fils river or tee off on the Hohenstaufen golf course. In winter, a trip to the ski lift at Hohenstaufen is a good idea.

If it rains, a visit to the indoor swimming pool in Süßen with sauna or a tour of Filseck Castle, which also houses a museum, is worthwhile.

It is most beautiful in Süßen in spring and summer, when nature comes to life and the sun shines. But also in autumn, the district of Göppingen with its colourful forests offers a picturesque backdrop for a walk.

Süßen is definitely worth a trip - whether as a day trip or a longer stay. We hope this guide will help you with your planning!
