The Albtraufgucker trail winds through the rolling foothills of the Alb and offers beautiful views of the slopes of the Albtrauf and the “Blue Wall,” as Mörike described it.
In addition to wonderful views, there are beautiful valleys along the trail, and the landscape unfolds in a breathtaking expanse on the hilltops. The towns along the route offer fascinating historical and cultural attractions. Of course, there’s no shortage of dining options either. The vast majority of the Traufguckerweg trails are paved and flatter than the trails along the Albtraufgängerweg. The trails of the Traufguckerweg are therefore ideal for strolls with strollers, as well as for seniors and leisure hikers who wish to explore a completely different—yet no less beautiful—part of the Alb foothills alongside the typical slopes of the Albtrauf.
The route can also be walked in sections, which reduces the difficulty.
