Geographically, Schillingen is located in a picturesque landscape of rolling hills and lush forests. The region is known for its world-class vineyards and the stunning Moselle River that flows through the area. Tourists can taste some of Germany's best wines here or simply walk along the river and enjoy the view.

In terms of tourist attractions, there is much to see in Schillingen. An absolute highlight is the Machern Monastery from the 12th century, which is now used as a hotel. Grimburg Castle from the Middle Ages and the historic city centre of Trier are also well worth seeing.

Cultural highlights are also plentiful: Trier's amphitheatre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and regularly hosts concerts and theatre performances; there are also many annual music festivals such as "Porta hoch drei". In terms of culinary delights, you should definitely try the regionally famous Saumagen (a type of Palatinate liver sausage) as well as the famous Riesling wine!

If you like to be active outdoors, then you are in luck: there are many opportunities here for hiking or cycling through the beautiful nature around Schillingen. A hike along the Moselsteig, which is one of the most beautiful long-distance hiking trails in Germany, is particularly recommended.

Sehr abwechslungsreiche Wanderung .

Was ein Service! https://www.vrt-info.de/fahrplanauskunft/trip?branding=vrt&formik=destination%3DsuburbID%253A7235045%253A2%253AHermeskeil%253A773181%253A5613244%253AMRCV%26origin%3D17006101&lng=de

Entspannte Wanderung.
