Oberndorf is located in the heart of the Palatinate Forest and is surrounded by picturesque nature. The region is known for its vineyards and charming landscape with numerous hiking and cycling trails. Here you can find peace and relaxation far away from big city life.

    Es ist eine schöne Tour über die Höhen zwischen dem Alsenztal und dem Moscheltal. Heute war der Himmel überwiegend bedeckt und es hat teilweise genieselt, aber das störte nur gering. Wir sind in Sittgers gestartet. Von dort aus geht es dann bergan zunächst am Waldrand entlang und dann über Feldwege - heute teilweise verschlammt - bis zum Solarpark. Hier ist der weitere Weg zur Ruine Randeck im GPX als Abzweig angelegt. Ich bin dann dem Weg folgend bis zur Ruine und der Aussichtsbank mit Blick über Mannweiler-Cöln. Dann bis ich zurück bis zum Solarpark und dann an der Weggabel nach rechts Richtung Alsenz. Auf den Höhen waren die Wege nach der langen Regenzeit natürlich verschlammt, aber damit muss man zu der Jahreszeit rechnen. Man wird durch die schönen Aussichten über das Nordpfälzer Bergland belohnt. Auf der Moschellandsburg lädt der überdachte Bereich mit den Bänken und Tischen natürlich zur Mittagsrast ein. Dann geht es über schmalen Waldpfad runter nach Obermoschel und über den Moscheltal-Radweg zurück. Bei sonnigem Wetter ist das natürlich noch schöner

    Landschaftlich sehr reizvolle Strecke, überwiegend auf asphaltierten Radwegen. Sehr gut ausgeschildert. Ein Streckenabschnitt ist allerdings holprig und tlw. nicht befestigt. Hier gibt es (aktuell) breite schlammige Wasserpfützen, deshalb nur 4 Sterne. Die Tour ist aber auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung!

    Wir haben die Strecke entgegengesetzt gemacht und sind erst entland des Appelbachs gefahren. Leicht abgewandelt bereits bei Würzweiler auf den Appelbachradweg. Die Radwege und Streckenführung ist sehr abwechslungsreich und führt durch kühle Wälder, was im Sommer sehr angenehm ist. Die Beläge der Wege sind durchweg hervorragend und mit jedem Rad zu fahren, Rennräder ausgenommen. Da man durch die schönen Ortschaften fährt, gibt es genügend Einkehrmöglichkeiten.

    Sehr schöne Rundtour. Sie hat ein paar knackige, teils lange Anstiege, deswegen sollte auf jeden Fall eine gute Gangschaltung am Fahrrad sein. Die Routenführung ist aber fast durchgehend abseits von Straßen, an den Flüssen entlang, durch Wälder, Felder und nette kleine Dörfer. Sehr positiv ist auch, dass es viele Bänke und Picknickmöglichkeiten am Weg gibt, um mal eine Pause zu machen. Auch die Beschilderung ist fast durchgängig vorhanden.

    Die Tour ist bei schönem Wetter abwechslungsreich und per E-Bike gut zu fahren. Das kulinarische Angebot ist allerdings sehr begrenzt. Die GPX-Datei für das Fahrrad-NAVI ist nur bedingt zu gebrauchen. Sie führt oft auf Autostraßen entlang, wo es auch ausgewiesene Radweg gibt. Eine Überarbeitung der Datei wäre angebracht.

    Was für eine großartige Landschaft! Bei dem ständigen Auf und Ab durch die Alte Welt bieten sich auf jeder Anhöhe neue Ausblicke in eine Region, die keinen Vergleich mit etablierten Urlaubszielen scheuen muss. Und ein besonderer Genuss ist es, dies auf dem Motorrad zu erleben. Dabei ist man selbst an einem schönen Sommer-Sonntag fast alleine unterwegs. Oft haben wir Motorradtouren schon als Stress empfunden, aber bei dem sanften Gleiten durch die Täler und über die exponierten Höhenzüge der Alten Welt entspannen wir - fast schon meditativ. Besondere Höhepunkte für uns Biker? Auf jeden Fall das Motorradmuseum in Otterbach, wo in einer ehemaligen Kirche auf zwei Ebenen Old- und Youngtimer präsentiert werden. Und dann die vielen Einkehrmöglichkeiten. Geheimtipp: Die Gartenwirtschaft auf dem Felsberger Hof mit ihrer Blütenpracht (leider nur sonntags im Sommer geöffnet). Aber nicht weitersagen!
