The varied cycle path takes us over hilly land, along the Alsenz river, on about 50 kilometers from Enkenbach-Alsenborn to Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg.
Between forests, meadows, and vineyards – this sums up the Alsenztal cycle path. From Alsenborn via Winnweiler and Rockenhausen to Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg. It winds in many loops and curves along the Alsenz, through picturesque villages and past diverse sights well worth a short break.

Safety information
Area of the group sewage treatment plant (section Schweisweiler – Winnweiler) Restrictions due to construction work
Currently, construction work is taking place in the area of the Winnweiler group sewage treatment plant. At the "Alsenztal cycle path" running there, restrictions on passability are to be expected during this time, but no complete closure. For safety reasons, however, it is recommended to dismount to pass the construction sections slowly and safely.
Often our cycling routes run on paths we share with others. We therefore ask for constant considerate and friendly cooperation. Winemakers, farmers, and foresters use the farm tracks through fields, forests, and vineyards for their daily work (also on weekends) and therefore always have priority. Due to work deployments and/or weather conditions, these paths can also be dirtier at times. Special caution is also advised when cycling on the (mostly quiet and little-used) roads in and around the Palatinate towns.

Roadbook
The starting point of the Alsenztal cycle path is in Enkenbach-Alsenborn at the Alsenz spring. There is also a direct connection to the Barbarossa cycle path there. The cycle path runs northward via "Quellstraße" and "Sonnenhof" to the beginning of a farm track. Continuing on the well-developed farm track away from busy roads, the Alsenztal cycle path leads to the K 43, crosses it, and continues on the roadside cycle path northbound to the B 48. There, it first turns right onto the roadside cycle path and after crossing the B 48 continues left past the nursing home to the beginning of the farm track near the Schwarzweiher.
On the right, the route continues alongside the B 48 to Münchweiler. From the station in Münchweiler, the cycle path follows the right bank of the Alsenz, passing through Langmeil and Alsenbrück to Winnweiler. Past the Bischoff private brewery, we reach the historic Gienanth iron smelter complex via a narrow bridge. After crossing the B48, we ride through Schweisweiler with its famous rococo church and then arrive in Imsweiler. From there, the route runs on a well-maintained forest path. In the small cultural town of Rockenhausen, we should not miss a detour to the pretty old town or visit one of the numerous museums. The path leads further to Dielkirchen and Bayerfeld-Steckweiler. Then we cycle past the idyllic Hahnmühle winery and reach Mannweiler-Cölln. After mastering the small climb to the village center, we follow the path towards Oberndorf. The simultaneous church is already visible from afar. One last climb is ahead of us, but the effort is rewarded with a wonderful view of the Alsenztal. After two more kilometers, we reach Alsenz. The town invites you to linger – especially the marketplace with the cultural monument "Old Town Hall" and the worthwhile Palatine Stonemason Museum are recommended. A tip is the stonemason circular route, which opens up some remarkable buildings and the German Sandstone Park.
Those who want to extend their bike route northwards can continue on a new section inaugurated in 2011 via Hochstätten and Altenbamberg to Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg. Here, the Alsenztal cycle path meets the Nahe cycle path.
