Geographical location and special features: Eppenbrunn is located in the heart of the Pfälzerwald Nature Park, surrounded by dense forests and idyllic valleys. The region is known for its breathtaking scenery with numerous hiking and cycling trails as well as a variety of recreational opportunities.

Touristically relevant sights: The Falkenstein castle ruins from the 12th century are a must for any history lover. Here you can explore the remains of a once mighty castle complex and enjoy the panoramic view over the valley. Another highlight is the House of the Forest, where you can learn all about the flora and fauna of the area.

Cultural highlights and events: The annual Forest Festival in August offers traditional music, dance performances as well as culinary delicacies from the region. In November, the Martini Festival takes place - a celebration with a historical background where wine queens are crowned.

Culinary specialities: Be sure to try the local speciality "Saumagen", a dish made of pork stomach stuffed with potatoes, onions and spices. The regional wines are also worth a try!

Outdoor activities: Hiking or cycling through the Palatinate Forest are popular leisure activities. In winter, you can go skiing or tobogganing nearby. For water sports fans, a trip to the nearby bathing lake is a good idea.

Where is it most beautiful? The area around Eppenbrunn is especially beautiful in autumn, when the leaves turn colourful and the light shines golden. But there is also a lot to discover here in spring and summer!

What to do if it rains? If the weather is bad, we recommend a visit to the Dynamikum Science Center in Pirmasens or a trip to Berwartstein Castle.

Eppenbrunn, Southwest Palatinate - definitely worth a trip!
