    Diese Route und alle Ortschaften sind mir sehr gut bekannt. Da ich am Rhein wohne habe ich hier gewissermaßen ein Heimspiel. Das Nordelsaß und die Südpfalz sind ein Erlebnis für Naturliebhaber. Wer Fachwerkhäuser liebt sollte die Orte Hoffen, Hunspach und Seebach besuchen. Auch Schweigen mit dem Dt. Weintor ist einen Besuch wert. Ebenso das Dornröschendorf Dörrenbach mit Rathaus und Wehrkirche. Oh es gibt noch so vieles in der Ecke.... wer nicht dort war hat was verpasst....

    Diese Radtour hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Abwechslungsreich und vie durch den Wald am Flüsschen entlang. Höhepunkte sind natürlich der sehenswerte Ort Wissembourg und das Deutsche Weintor. Einige (kurze) Streckenabschnitte sind aktuell sehr matschig. Eine durchgängige Beschilderung gibt es nicht.

    Wir sind den Weg am 28. Februar gegangen. Der Einstieg war noch etwas verschlammt, da nach dem langen Regen und Holzrückarbeiten der Weg beschädigt war. Das wurde aber schnell besser. Es gibt landschaftlich sicherlich spektakulärere Wanderungen in der Region, aber die vielen kleinen Märchenstationen machen die Tour doch sehr abwechslungsreich. Vom Stäffelsbergturm hat man eine sehr schöne Aussicht und dann hat uns Dörrenbach als Ort ebenfalls sehr gut gefallen. Eine Pause in dem sehr netten Café im Ort hat uns sehr gut getan. 9,4 km und dann die nur moderaten Anstiege machen diese Tour auch für ungeübte Wanderer zu einer leichten Tour.

    Der Weg ist gut zu gehen, an der Station 4 sollte man die 700 Meter zur Kolmerbergkapelle auf jeden Fall gehen. Teilweise sind die anstiege etwas steil, und der Weg ist teilweise nicht für Kinderwagen geeignet.

    Ich bin begeistert! Den Pfälzer Weinsteig bin ich vom 03. bis 08.06.2023 gegangen und war überwältigt. Einen so hohen Anteil an Pfaden und naturbelassenen Wegen habe ich bislang noch auf keiner meiner absolvierten Wanderungen in Deutschland erleben dürfen. Dazu dieser wunderbare Wald, Laubwald, Mischwald und dann wieder Kiefernwald, einfach wunderbar. Viele Kastanienbäume. Gut, es gibt auch Streckenabschnitte auf befestigen Waldwegen und tatsächlich auch mal Asphaltstrecken. Das ist bei so einer Weglänge unvermeidbar, hält sich aber in Grenzen. Immer wieder Ausblicke in die Rheinebene. Und spektakuläre Ausblicke wie z. B. vom Orensfels. Burgen über Burgen. Die Berge die zu erklimmen sind, haben sicher keine nennenswerte Höhe. Und doch sind die Ausblicke, beispielhaft vom Kalmit, grandios. Es geht viel hinauf und hinab. Mal moderat, mal etwas steiler. Und so kommt man auch mit nicht so hohen Bergen am Ende des Tages auf eine respektable Zahl an Höhenmetern. Die man dann auch immer wieder bergab laufen muss (arme Knie!). Der Pfälzer Weinsteig hat den Westweg (Schwarzwald), meine bisherige Nr. 1, mit Leichtigkeit auf Platz 2 in meiner persönlichen Wertung der bislang in Deutschland gewanderten Wege verdrängt.
