Roadbook
Orientation is easy; the signage is good.
From the parking lot, follow the "black dot on a white background" to the Stäffelsberg Tower. Important stops on the way "up" are the Geisborn spring, the Kolmer chapel, and the junction "Am Bild." From the chapel, the hiking signs of the "Chapel Pilgrimage Path" and the "Palatinate Wine Trail" provide additional orientation aids.
The return path is also simple. From the Stäffelsberg Tower, first walk back to the already known junction "Am Bild." To get to Dörrenbach, you now have two options. The quick, steep path goes right past the water reservoir and steeply down to Stäffelsberg Street and continues along the main street to the fortified church of St. Martin and the historic town hall. However, you can also reach the historic village center via the hiking parking lot “Am Alten Bild,” Guttenberg Street, and Rathaus Street or via Heideweg. Simply follow from the junction “Am Bild” the “Brothers Grimm Fairy Tale Path” (crown on a white background).
From the historic village center, with its many beautiful half-timbered buildings, go down the main street to Wiesen Street. After a few steps on Wiesen Street, you will come across the "Chapel Pilgrimage Path." Both the "Chapel Pilgrimage Path" and the "Palatinate Wine Trail" will take you back to Bad Bergzabern. Your Outdooractive map varies the return path in the Dörrenbach valley and leads up to the vineyards.
You can also simply reverse the hiking direction and head to Dörrenbach first. Also very beautiful!
