The Mostviertel is located in the west of Lower Austria, between the Danube and the Ötscher, and borders Upper Austria to the west and Styria to the south. The landmark of the region, the Ötscher, rises 1893 m high. The alpine mountain world invites you to extensive tours. Along the way, you also walk in the footsteps of history: near Neuhofen/Ybbs lies the birthplace of today's Austria. A donation deed from the year 996 mentions the name "Ostarrichi" for the first time, from which "Austria" developed.
During hikes through vineyards, hills, and gorges up to the peaks, we enjoy the graceful landscape and many beautiful views in the Mostviertel. Numerous Heurige, inns, and mountain huts invite you to stop by along the way.
