Surprisingly modern - a room full of possibilities
Ivy climbs up the old stone walls. Wild vines climb in the courtyard. The water of the Ybbs flows unimpressed past the imposing castle. Bishops once resided here, later Baron Rothschild lived behind the historic walls, today they are a meeting place.
Culture in modern splendor
Even from the outside, you can tell that there is no classic castle behind these walls. The glass cube on the castle tower is visible from afar and testifies to the courage of star architect Hans Hollein to combine the old with the new. He has also created a concert hall inside the palace that is second to none. World stars as well as students from the music school can be heard in the Crystal Hall. High culture and popular culture are framed in equal measure and attract numerous visitors.
Weddings & seminars with that certain something
If there is no music playing in the rooms, the castle is also a real insider tip for events of all kinds: not only weddings in the sparkling Crystal Hall, on the glass Ybbsufer Terrace or in the old smithy by the babbling Schwarzbach stream find an individual setting here. Schloss Rothschild also offers space for ideas and is a popular venue for corporate events and seminars. Thought processes are stimulated and visions spun amidst the old walls.
"Capture" history, enjoy the green space, discover the glittering lights
Although Schloss Rothschild is located on the edge of the city center, it is a central point of contact: In addition to the tourist office, which informs visitors about the region, it also houses the 5 Elements Museum. Here, the history of the town can be "grasped" and the toy world shows the imagination and stories of children in days gone by.
The castle park, which is also a "Nature in the Garden" show garden, attracts children to the playground in summer and invites them to picnic on the lawn. In winter, there is often a parade of snowmen lined up like castle guards. And as if that wasn't enough for these old walls, the whole castle lights up every year on the 2nd weekend of Advent at the Flaming Christmas Lights, where numerous exhibitors showcase their handicrafts.
