0.0/0.0   We start at the parking lot of the Mostviertel hospital (east side of the hospital). We follow the signs of the Mostbaron bike route heading southeast.

2.2/2.2   We go under the B 121, briefly through the forest, then through the Neufurth settlement. The bike path signs guide us to the Ybbs bridge, we cross the Ybbs, then 500 m through Hausmening. We are now at a bike path junction where the Mostbaron bike route and the Ybbstal bike path intersect.

5.5/7.7   We switch to the Ybbstal bike path and cycle right (westward) through Ulmerfeld-Hausmening. Just before the town end a short hill. Then the bike path goes right through fields over Wallmersdorf to Kröllendorf.

4.3/12.0   Right the Kröllendorf castle. We stay on the Ybbstal bike path, briefly downhill, cross the railway, take the first exit at the roundabout, over the Ybbs to the B 121. Do not cross the street, but briefly left on the sidewalk, then into a settlement (still Ybbstal bike path). Then we reach Kematen next to the B 121. Briefly on the main road, then the Ybbs is crossed. Shortly after the bridge turn left to the train station.

1.5/13.5   Over the railway, then immediately turn right. Follow the signs and along the railway to a level crossing just before the Gleiß monastery (left the Gleiss cemetery).     

5.1/18.6   Leave the Ybbstal bike path in Gleiß to the right, briefly turn left on the B 121 at the watchmaker and after 200 m before the monastery turn right down to the Ybbs bridge and cross the Ybbs. Immediately after the bridge take the road left (signpost Oismühle). Slightly hilly (a short, steep hill at Oismühle) we cycle to Böhlerwerk. After a short climb we reach the L 88.

3.3/21.9   We leave Böhlerwerk to the right (signpost Seitenstetten) and cycle up to the cemetery. Then a short descent, then gently rising to the junction at the Wegerkapelle.

5.2/27.1   Here we leave the ascending L 88 to the left and cycle on the signposted Birnenblick bike round along the Nellingbach. At the Ortsmühle settlement the right road, it climbs to the first mountain rating of our tour, the Großau pass (555 m).

2.9/30.0   Still on the Birnenblick bike route: half a kilometer fast downhill, then we reach the L 86 (to the right it goes to Ertl), we tackle the 5 km to the left to Maria Neustift. After about 1 km of flat climb the next pass (Hinterhaus) is reached. Short descent, then again 1 km somewhat stronger climb to the third mountain rating (between Bischofberg and Briefberg 643 m).

2.3/32.3   Fast descent, in the hollow the state border between Lower Austria and Upper Austria, at the Ramskogler junction turn left and first descending, then briefly ascending to Maria Neustift.

5.2/37.5   After looking around Maria Neustift and admiring the beautiful surroundings, we start the return journey. Up to the Ramskogler junction we ride the piece we came. At the junction we now drive straight down on the L 559 into the valley of the Ramingbach to the outskirts of Sulzbach.

5.0/42.5   A signpost to "Ertl" points right. We follow this and take on the climb to the "Monument". 1.8 km climb, then the pass is mastered. Left the monument, right the Hochstrass fire station (623 m). We ride straight ahead (downhill) and reach the Rexnitzgraben, it goes along the stream out to Bruckbach to the Url.

5.2/47.7   Turn left and in the Url valley (on the Birnenblick bike round) gently descending on the bike path next to and then on the Urltal street up to shortly before St. Peter in der Au.

2.2/49.9   Here we cycle 600 m towards St. Michael, then left (still on the signposted bike path) along the Url to the B 122 in St. Peter in der Au.

3.1/53.0   Cross the B 122 slightly to the left and further following the Birnenblick bike route we reach the train station St. Peter in der Au.

5.0/58.0   Along the railway (under the road bridge), past the airfield to the next railway underpass, through beneath and immediately afterwards sharply turn right. Still along the railway, then turn left and over the Url and left of the Url to the road that leads from Krenstetten train station to Krenstetten.

2.0/60.0   Right over the Url, immediately after the bridge turn left along the Url to the sewage treatment plant, straight on (on gravel) further to a farmhouse, shortly right, then left on a field path (gravel again), along which you can cycle further along the Url to a footbridge.

3.5/63.5   At the footbridge we cross the Url, turn right, go under the Westbahn and cycle between the railway and the Url towards Aschbach. Staying close to the railway, cross the motorway feeder, then sharply right and pass under the railway next to the railway underpass, immediately afterwards sharply right again and we reach a residential area which we leave immediately to the right again to cycle alongside the railway to Aschbach train station.

4.0/67.5    Further east alongside the railway. Cross a priority road near the scout house. Up to a house left of the railway, at this house sharply turn right, go under the railway, immediately afterwards sharply left and now right of the railway to a bridge over the Url. Immediately afterwards go under the railway and now left of the railway to a stop sign.

1.3/68.8   Turn right, through under the railway, then turn left and cycle next to the railway to the main road. Here turn right, past the Jugendstil buildings of Mauer hospital. 200 m later turn left and back to the parking lot where we started.
