Pure enjoyment. This leisurely route requires neither much time nor much effort, yet grants interesting views and perspectives of the Lech, Forggensee, and mountains.
We accompany the leisurely flowing Lech on its way to the Forggensee. Deep green, turquoise, milky, or even brown… the color of its water can vary depending on the weather in the Tyrolean mountains in previous days. We say goodbye to the river at the Forggensee shore, where in summer the boats depart from the Füssen boat harbor for a round on Bavaria's fifth largest lake. Almost as a dessert of this indulgent menu, a panoramic view of the Ammergau mountains with Tegelberg and Säuling is served on the return journey.
We begin our walk directly in the center of Füssen and first stroll past the football fields down to the Lech shore. Almost all paths on this route are cleared; only the section past the sports facilities down to the Lech is snow-covered. From the boat harbor, the path then leads along Weidachstraße uphill to the rear of the Füssen cemetery. On König-Ludwig-Promenade, we walk back into town, with a fine view to the left: before the high peaks lie the royal castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau at our feet. In the old town alleys, numerous opportunities for a pleasant stop offer themselves for a delightful finish.

Safety information
In winter, paths or sections of paths can be snow-covered, frozen, and/or icy at any time due to weather conditions. This may require additional equipment such as hiking poles and crampons (very light traction devices) to walk the path. Occasionally, paths or path sections may be impassable because it is too icy, there is too much snow, or the clearing vehicles are still busy clearing the most urgent streets and places. Please take note of this, be understanding, and assess the situation directly on site.
