Then follows a pleasant descent via Blochboden, which becomes steeper towards the end into the Gscheidgraben. Overall, the entire route should not be underestimated, but there is an option to shorten the tour from the Unterberg shelter if you skip the summit.

From there, continue through the forest behind the hut up to the summit. Depending on conditions, you can also ascend along the right edge of the steep slope.
The descent leads west along the scenic ridge, continuously to Blochboden. From there, over a hilltop southwestwards and down towards the Unterberg hunting hut. Before the hut, turn right onto a forest road into the woods and follow it briefly to a left bend. After a short stretch, there is a right turn and a long, moderately steep ramp begins, crossing the forest road twice, leading downhill into the Gscheidgraben. At the end, turn left onto a wider forest road and continue about one kilometer back to the starting point. For the descent from the summit, plan about 2 hours.
Variant: Those who want to skip the summit and shorten the route a bit can choose the direct, level crossing from the Unterberg shelter to Blochboden, continuously marked in red.

Public transport
This route is not properly accessible by public transport; in this case, it is better to approach Unterberg from the east (Pernitz).Directions
Coming from the A2, exit at Wöllersdorf, then passing through Pernitz and Gutenstein to Rohr im Gebirge. Then turn right into Gries. The route from Gutenstein via Haselrast to Gries is a bit shorter; after new snowfalls, however, the way via Rohr is recommended as it is much more used and generally better cleared.Parking
Spacious and generally well-cleared parking lot at the yellow farm in Gries.Coordinates
