Rappenseehütte

From Lechleiten it goes steadily uphill to Bürstegg and to the Lechleitner Alpe. Then it goes over relatively flat alpine meadows past the alpine huts of the Lechleitner Alpe and small ponds towards the Bavarian border. From the Bavarian border it goes over a gravelly path past the stone hut of the Biberalpe to the Mutzentobel. The Mutzentobel is a steep and deep valley formed by water and avalanches with a narrow path, partly secured with ropes. With some surefootedness, however, no problem. After the Mutzentobel, the path goes steadily uphill again until you can look towards Oberstdorf, the ski flying hill and the Enzianhütte. Then it goes on a well-made zigzag path up to the Rappenseehütte. At the Rappenseehütte you have a great view of the Rappenseekopf, Hochrappenkopf, Rappenkopf and the beginning of the Heilbronner Weg with the Hohen Licht. After a comfortable rest, it goes past the Rappensee on the same path back to Lechleiten
