Pilis Bike Sikárosi circular route (Kis Rigó Restaurant P+B)
South of Pilisszentlászló, there are many exciting places and trails. Following the National Blue Trail here, we pass the entrance of the Dömörkapu valley, then roll across the picturesque Sikárosi Meadow, climb up to Tölgyikrek, and later roll down from Fagyos-katona towards Király-kúti Saddle.
For hikers who have done several tours and are in good shape, the persistent climb in the first half of the ride will provide a really good experience. The asphalt is excellent for forest conditions, while only a few rough sections on terrain will make the rider sweat. Do not expect technical or excessively rocky roads.
Make sure to bring all necessary food, drink, and tools, as the tour does not pass through inhabited areas or villages. Be self-sufficient!
Author’s recommendation
- If after cycling you want to replenish calories with a good pancake, then avoid Wednesday, as the restaurant is closed that day.

Description:
Kis Rigó Restaurant - Nagy-rakodó (PB1)
- Terrain: asphalt
Starting from the restaurant towards the forest, we begin cycling with a few minutes of easy rolling. At the junction, turn right, then after a few more minutes the Sikárosi Meadow slowly unfolds on the left with its marvelous view. We cycle neatly around the clearing, inside of which is the Sikárosi Forester's Lodge. Moving away from the meadow, soon on the right side appears another building, Nagy-rakodó. Pay attention here, as a few meters ahead a path branches off to the left from the asphalt.
Nagy-rakodó - Fagyos-katona (PB1)
- Terrain: gravel road, forest soil
After leaving the asphalt, a long and persistent climb begins. After a left turn, we ride together with the National Blue Trail for a few meters, then turning right, we pedal upwards on a gravel climb located on the side of Lom Hill to Tölgyikrek. In this large forest junction, six smaller and larger paths converge. Let's catch our breath, then turn right and cycle further for a while with the S sign. The S sign turns right into the bushes, while we continue straight on the carriage road. The two signs will separate and join multiple times over the next few kilometers.
Following the green bicycle sign, we slowly reach the side of Morgó Hill, thus ending a long climb. On the right behind the bushes, an increasingly beautiful view opens up, and the towers of Dobogókő on the neighboring ridge also appear.
From here, a straight roll begins. Due to sometimes rougher terrain, speed must be controlled carefully, but after the previous climbs this little rest will surely feel good. A short climb signals approaching asphalt; around Fagyos-katona, we return to firm ground and to the blue bicycle sign.
Fagyos-katona - Kis Rigó Restaurant (PB1)
- Terrain: asphalt
Turning right, the road still climbs for a few bends, then after topping out a long descent begins. Although the road is closed to traffic, forestry vehicles and hikers like us may come towards us in sometimes blind bends, so ride carefully. Soon we reach Király-kúti Saddle, then shortly after the junction where we turned off the asphalt 1-2 hours ago.
We continue rolling towards Pilisszentlászló, then at the Dömörkapu junction we turn left. The road climbs again; we must work to get back to the parking lot, but it is no more than 3 kilometers. Passing through the barrier, the last houses appear, and slowly the cars in front of the restaurant come into view.

Public transport
The tour location is relatively hard to reach by public transport. It is worth traveling by the H5 suburban railway to Szentendre, as this is the closest option for transporting your bicycle.
