Via Claudia Augusta: Etappe Roßhaupten - Füssen (Via Claudia Augusta: Roßhaupten - Füssen stage)

On this introductory stage, you can enjoy the magnificent peak views and Neuschwanstein Castle.
After arriving by Forggensee ship (season: early June - 15.10., bike transport possible), you get on your bike at the dam near Roßhaupten. The info center in the hydroelectric power plant (open Mon - Sun from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm) provides information about the Forggensee, the raft museum in Lechbruck about the former rafting on the Lech river. From here, you cycle on the actual Via Claudia Augusta bike route to Roßhaupten and along the western shore of the Forggensee to Füssen. Here the route largely coincides with the Forggensee bike path. In summer, you cannot get closer to the Roman road, because where it once ran straight south, today extends the Forggensee.

Roadbook
From the boat harbor Füssen, you cross by ship to the stop power plant Roßhaupten at the dam (approx. 1 h). On the west bank of the Lech, it goes upstream to Lechbruck. Then it continues back south towards Roßhaupten and via Rieden back to Füssen.

From the long-distance train stations Ulm, Augsburg, and Munich, you will find regular train connections to Füssen. The starting point of the route is about 2 km from the station.
From Hopfen, you can reach the starting point by bus line 56 to Füssen (station).
From Weißensee, you can reach the starting point by bus line 71 to Füssen (station).
