The penultimate stage of this Danube cycling journey takes us fully into Hungary as we approach our destination: Esztergom, one of the oldest cities in the country and a former capital. Along the way, we’ll enjoy the company of the Danube, the Roman fort of Kelemantia, and the peaceful Hungarian countryside. Once in Esztergom, often referred to as the "Hungarian Rome", we can visit its impressive basilica—the largest in Hungary—perched on a hill overlooking the river, and explore its charming historic center.
