From Zvolen to Skalka - Kremnica Mountains
Large circuit from Zvolen to Bystrica, along the Malachovský stream to Králiky, bike routes to Skalka and a descent to Kremnica. Back to Zvolen via Jastrabá and Hronská Dúbrava
The cycle route is suitable for more demanding cyclists. From Zvolen you can get to Banská Bystrica by bike path or on asphalt roads, and continue through the Malachov Valley to the Malachov Waterfall along the mining trail Ortuty. Mercury was mined here in the past, as indicated by educational boards. Over the Mútne pond and along forest roads, you will reach the Králiky ski resort, and on the cross-country tracks, which are also bike paths, you will arrive at the ridge of the Kremnica Mountains. The red trail leads you along the ridge through the Králické and Bystrické passes to Skalka, where you can refresh yourself. Dominating Skalka is a 312 m high transmitter at an elevation of 1,232 m. From Skalka, a beautiful asphalt descent awaits you all the way to Kremnica. I recommend a short stop at the Krahulecká valley and a visit to the newly built flood protection dams. Kremnica has many cultural monuments, museums, and you can taste the traditional Kremnica krumple. From Kremnica, we returned to Zvolen via Batrošova Lehôtka, Jastrabá and Hronská Dúbrava.
