UFFBASSE! - Campaign for considerate coexistence in nature
Fire & smoking - Lighting fires, smoking and barbecues are strictly prohibited in the forest and must be avoided at all costs! This is the only way to prevent fires and the resulting damage to nature and wildlife.
Be considerate when out and about - Always behave in a forward-looking, friendly and considerate manner towards everyone you meet along the way.
Nature conservation - Stay on the designated paths and avoid unnecessary noise when you are out in nature. Leave the forest at dusk at the latest so as not to disturb the rhythm of nocturnal animals.
Picnic & garbage - Remember to take a garbage bag with you and take your garbage home with you. Only use the furnished rest areas for breaks and picnics.
Dogs on a lead - Please keep your dog on a lead at all times. Other visitors and animals will thank you for it.

Safety information
Hiking on nature trails and paths - Despite the markings, for safety reasons we recommend that you always have an appropriate hiking map with you so that you can quickly find your way to a safe area in the event of a thunderstorm or emergency, for example. Please be aware of trail closures and detour!Particularly in the fall, you should also be aware that leaves lying on the ground can hide uneven surfaces, roots, stones or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or rainstorms, trees can still fall over or branches can fall down. Especially in adverse weather conditions, muddy and slippery passages can occur on near-natural paths. This type of path impairment must always be expected on hikes. If you are of the opinion that certain sections of the trail are not passable, it is better to avoid them.
In addition, not all rocks or slopes are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is required in some places. Rocks should not be climbed, especially by children, as the brittle sandstone in particular poses a risk of falling for non-professionals. Never climb over railings and fall protection (danger to life).
Note - We always endeavor to announce all closures that occur due to forestry work or hunting parties on this platform. Nevertheless, there are situations in which hiking trails are closed and we may not have been informed. Should you unexpectedly encounter such a trail closure or detour, we ask you to follow the instructions for your own safety.

After around 400 meters, turn right and continue in a south-westerly direction over a short steep section up to the Rodalber Felsenwanderweg. This Wanderbares Deutschland quality trail, which was voted Germany's most beautiful hiking trail in the multi-day tour category by the hiking magazine in 2022, is followed in an easterly direction by taking a sharp left turn. Now the more adventurous part of the tour begins, as the narrow path offers magnificent red sandstone rocks almost every minute, some with caves and seating areas that invite you to rest and linger. Passing the Hungerpfuhl rocks and the Hungerpfuhl spring, you finally reach the Karl May rocks, which could well serve as a backdrop for Winnetou films. The path winds picturesquely on and on through the monumental witnesses of time made of red sandstone... a feast for the eyes!
Once you have left the Karl May rocks behind you, you finally leave the rocky hiking trail again by taking a sharp left turn in a northerly direction. However, if you like, you can also take a short detour at this point, walk just under 300 meters further along the rocky hiking trail and take a look at the "Fledermaushöhle" (bat cave). This cave with its small, dome-like room at the end is particularly interesting for children, as it can only be reached via a low tunnel in which even older children have to bend down slightly. Flashlights or cell phones with a flashlight app are required here, as otherwise you can't see anything.
Back at the starting point of the detour, the descent back to Neuhof begins. After about 200 meters, keep to the right and then turn left after another 200 meters. Passing the buildings of the so-called "Ranch", where you can often see horses grazing, after another 200 meters you reach the idyllic Hungerpfuhltal valley with its extensive meadows and pastures, into which you finally turn right. After about 100 meters in a northerly direction, the nature trail finally becomes a narrow path. This now leads for about 400 meters through a wonderful, light-flooded mixed forest to the built-up area. Back in "civilization", follow the Hungerpfuhl road until you reach Neuhofstraße, where you turn left and walk past the bakery and café Busch & Naab in the Netto supermarket back to the starting point.
Now you can take advantage of the many play, sports and leisure facilities in the Schwallborn area. Play a round of mini golf or let your children let off steam on the playground or while skateboarding or playing soccer. You can also use the barbecue area or enjoy a tasty meal in the restaurant with its beautiful beer garden.

Insufficient information or not accessible.
Completely accessible and fully usable.
Reasonably usable, but not completely accessible.

Info in leichter Sprache:
Der schöne Weg führt durch den Wald und über Wiesen und Felder. Man kommt auch an vielen Felsen vorbei. Er ist nicht allzu lang, aber manchmal steil und anstrengend. An einigen Stellen ist er schwierig zu gehen und gefährlich, man kann sogar abstürzen. Auch stehen nicht überall Schilder. Man muss dann dem Logo folgen. Daher nehmen Sie immer eine Begleitperson mit, damit Sie sich nicht weh tun oder verlaufen.
