The Saloberkamm forms almost the "front row" of the Allgäu Alps. Its crossing is an easy and attractive ridge hike. During the hike, there are always views of the northern flanks of Aggenstein and Brentenjoch as well as into the lovely Alpine foothills. Directly at the Falkenstein castle ruins, a viewing platform offers a unique 360-degree view. A small museum at the castle hotel on Falkenstein informs about King Ludwig II.'s plans to build his last dream castle at this location.

Salober Alm (1150 m)Roadbook
You follow the path marked "Zirmgrat", which leads up to Falkenstein. Passing the Mariengrotto, you reach the castle hotel on Falkenstein and the summit. It is best to now take the asphalt road to descend about 120 m to the saddle in front of the Einerkopf. There begins the path marked "Salober Alm". You can now simply follow this. But there is also the opportunity to leave the path again after a few minutes and climb up the ridge via the northwest ridge of the Einerkopf. Always heading east, you continue on trail traces to the Zwölferkopf. Before the Zirmgrat, you meet the normal path to the Alm again. For the descent, follow the path towards Vils at first. Later you turn right towards "Zirmenweg - Mariengrotto", which leads back to the starting point.
