Roadbook
The ascent starts at the end of this village, directly at the bus stop. The route follows the red trail past the SNP Memorial through the Ludrová valley, a local nature reserve – the untouched canyon Hučiaky Gorge, which is one of the top natural sites in the Liptov region, and forest. After about four hours of gentle climbing, you will reach the summit of Salatín (1630 m above sea level). The view from Salatín itself is not spectacular because the summit is still in the dwarf pine zone. However, the descent to Bohúňovo is rich in panoramic views, with sights of Salatín itself and also a beautiful view of Liptov complemented by rocky formations. You return on a different route marked with a green trail, but you finish the hike at the same place where you started.
