The hike starting in Raumünzach leads past the former quarry at Schneiderskopf up to the well-known Schwarzenbach Reservoir. It is the most important structure of the Rudolf Fettweis power plant of EnBW. Construction of the reservoir began in 1922 and it was inaugurated in 1926. The path continues along the lake until the Westweg of the Schwarzwaldverein is reached, which is also part of the European long-distance path E1. At the Wegscheid, the highest point of the hike is reached; the shelter invites you to rest and relax. Now it goes downhill to Forbach. At the Marienkapelle, the view opens to the Murgtal and Forbach. You enter the small town and cross the Murg over the historic wooden bridge and arrive at the destination Bahnhof Forbach. The bridge was also used as a filming location for the movie "Lenz oder die Freiheit", which dealt with the Baden Revolution of 1848.

From the signpost "Haltepunkt Raumünzach", the path marked with a yellow diamond leads to the location "Hotel Wasserfall". It now goes uphill, marked with a blue diamond, to the waypoint "Hotel Wasserfall Abzweig". Turn left at the signpost "Schneiderskopf", then left again and cross the abandoned quarry, hiking to the location "Grundablass", now beneath the dam. Take a steep path to the right to the waypoint "Schwarzenbachmauer", now at the dam. It continues along the lake shore to the location "Beim Wärterhaus" and shortly after reaches the signpost "Fürfelbach". Stay on the path until "Stauseeufer". Now at the Westweg, the red diamond of the trail leads uphill to the highest point of the hike, the "Wegscheid". From here it goes downhill to the waypoint "Haulerloch", then take the left path to the signpost "Marienkapelle". The path continues through the village first to the town landmark "Mosesbrunnen" and after crossing the local road B462 to the historic "Holzbrücke". Cross the Murg river and reach the destination "Bahnhof Forbach". From here, take the train back to the starting point Raumünzach.
