Along the shore of Forggensee, hiking beginners and families also like to stroll on the almost flat route. The proximity to the water and the mountains makes the hearts of nature lovers beat faster. Due to the relatively high proportion of asphalt (almost two-thirds of the route), this hike is only conditionally recommended for acute joint problems. For the return journey, it is best to take the Forggensee boat between early June and mid-October.

From the Tourist Information Füssen, start left on the sidewalk along Sebastianstraße towards Schwangau. At the intersection Hochstiftstraße/Krankenhaus, cross Hochstiftstraße at the traffic light and reach the hiking trail towards Horn-Schwangau. Pass the skate and bike park and the sports facilities, then turn right at the next fork in the road to shortly after take the path left towards "Horn/Schwangau" and cross the Lech over the weir. You hike along the hiking and cycling path to shortly before the ascent to Horn turn left towards the "Schwangau circular route." Here begins the hiking trail that takes you along the Forggensee to Waltenhofen and Brunnen to the boat dock of the Forggensee boat service. Alternatively, it is also possible to return by bus line 78 from Brunnen to Füssen.
