On this leisurely circular route, you move in a quiet, gentle, untouched natural environment. Passing natural ponds and lakes, you can enjoy decelerated living spaces. The Water Lily Route leads through forest landscapes like the Rohrwoog Valley or the Moosbach Valley Nature Reserve. By the way, you should not forget other sights along the way and plan a short detour to one or the other interesting point. The bike route begins and ends in Erfweiler, with the surroundings of Dahn in focus. Particularly suitable for family outings or for romantics among us seeking solitary moments.
This selected pleasure route is characterized above all by one thing: romance! You cycle in the middle of the Palatinate Forest Nature Park through valleys with a relaxing atmosphere. Escape the hectic rhythm of the city so that your mind can calm down in a rural environment. This route is suitable for everyone, whether a quick trip with friends and relatives or simply a family outing with children. For the most part, you ride on paved cycle paths without significant inclines. While leisurely cycling through valleys interspersed with forests and ponds, there are occasional opportunities to take a break, for example, to explore the natural bathing lake Rohrwoog. In addition, some sights can be considered, such as visiting various rocks (Elwetritsche rocks, Deer Rocks, Bride and Groom) or taking a castle tour (Alt-Dahn castle group, Neudahn castle ruin).

Safety information
Often our cycling routes run on paths where we are guests with our bikes and share them with others. Therefore, we ask for always considerate and friendly cooperation. Winegrowers, farmers, and foresters use the farm roads through fields, forests, and vineyards for their daily work (also on weekends) and therefore always have priority. Due to work operations and/or weather conditions, these paths can sometimes be more heavily soiled. Special caution is also advised when riding on the (mostly quiet and little-trafficked) streets in and around Palatinate villages.

From Schulstraße, turn left into Winterbergstraße and follow it to the edge of the village. At the fork, turn left onto a farm road, passing the press house to the landscape pond. Turn left before the landscape pond and continue on the farm road along the west side of the pond to the Erfweiler Gorge. At the fork directly after the gorge, keep left. The path takes you through a romantic forest landscape into the Rohrwoog Valley.
Here, continue on a paved farm road through the valley, past several natural lakes, to the Rohrwoog bathing lake. After the barrier, the path leads on a small road through the Seebach valley to the B427. Cross the federal road and after a short distance turn left onto the German-French Pamina Cycle Path Lautertal. Follow this to the Neudahn Pond (below the Neudahn castle ruin, about a 10-minute climb to the castle ruin).
Turn right here and continue on the road, passing several lakes, through the Moosbach Valley Nature Reserve. After about 1.7 km, turn left onto a farm road towards the Dahn Hut (operated, opening hours apply). About 100 meters before the hut, turn left onto a farm road through a romantic valley to the junction with a wide farm road. Here, turn left and ride past the Rothsteig Fountain to Dahn.
Through the streets Im Büttelwoog, past the natural monument Bride and Groom and Hasenbergstraße, you reach the German-French Pamina Cycle Path Lautertal at the railway crossing.
Now turn right into the street Im Kaltenbächel and continue on the German-French Pamina Cycle Path Lautertal to Dahn-Reichenbach. At the cycle path information board, turn left through Industriestraße to the B427. Cross the federal road to the cycle path. Now turn right, shortly after left, and continue on the cycle path to Erfweiler to the road junction. Turn right here into Winterbergstraße. It leads you back to Schulstraße/Belmontplatz, the starting point of the route.
