On five adjacent sandstone cliffs rise the ruins of the three fortifications. The castles are documented as early as the first half of the 12th century. The castle group, with a length of almost 200 meters, is among the largest medieval fortifications in the Palatinate. During the Thirty Years' War, the castles were largely destroyed. In the castle museum of the castle group, there are interesting finds to see.
