From Zachariáš of Hradec Square, we set off through the Lower Gate along the dam of the Štěpnický Pond. We follow cycle route 16, cross the intersection with Jihlavská Street, and after 0.5 km we arrive at a junction where we turn left. With a gentle climb, we reach the hunting castle Roštejn through the villages Vanůvek and Doupě. The castle offers a new interactive trail dedicated to nature around the castle, hunting, and forestry. From the seven-sided castle tower, on a clear day, we can even see the Alpine peaks.

From Roštejn, we continue with a gentle descent to Růžená, where we leave cycle route 16 and turn left onto the Greenway RV cycle route (of crafts and passages) through Lovětín to Batelov, where we can visit the old chateau (original fortress from the 15th century), the new chateau, the Baroque Church of Saints Peter and Paul, the Jewish synagogue, and the cemetery. We take the same cycle route out of Batelov towards Bezděčín and Nový Rychnov, from where a long climb leads us to Křemešník. From the Pípalk lookout tower, there is a beautiful view of the surroundings. Besides the lookout tower, we can also visit the pilgrimage church or the Wind Castle.

From Křemešník, we go one kilometer down along the yellow and blue tourist trails to the Korce junction, where we meet cycle route 5129 and gently descend nearly 10 km to Pelhřimov. In the city of records and curiosities, we can visit the homonymous museum or walk along the Path of Architectural Styles.

From Masaryk Square, we take Palacký Street towards the river to cycle route 1223 to Kojčice. After 6.5 kilometers, at the square in Kojčice, we turn left onto cycle route 1224 through Svépravice.

Before the village Popelištná, we turn right onto road III/12927. After 3.5 kilometers, passing through Brtná, we reach Želiv, which is the highlight of our three-day route. Besides visiting the Premonstratensian monastery, it's possible to taste local beer or stay overnight. The reconstruction of the monastery church of the Virgin Mary is linked with the legendary architect Jan Blažej Santini.
