We set off towards the world-famous Hévíz lake with a slight detour from Kehidakustány. We travel through the quiet landscapes of Zala to the world-renowned peat-bedded medicinal lake, first described in the 14th century. Its water is capable, without claiming completeness, of treating rheumatic musculoskeletal diseases, gout, secondary joint and chronic peripheral nervous system disorders. Besides its healing effect, the lake's special feature is the cyclamen-red Indian red water lily that blooms late at night, introduced at the end of the 19th century. In addition to the red water lily, we can also find small-flowered white water lilies, which are the only native form of Hévíz.
