A route that leads through peaceful villages of the Vorfläming and to their themed churches. These special churches tell of faith, inspire curiosity, and provide information.
Over a distance of just under 33 kilometers, this route takes you on a discovery journey through the Vorfläming. The cycling route is not yet signposted but can be easily followed with a map and/or this description. It mainly runs over quiet district roads and well-developed agricultural and local connecting paths that are of good quality.
The themed churches in the Zerbst districts are beautiful old houses of worship that invite spiritual encounters, encounters with history, and inner reflection. Your cycling route leads you past these themed churches to further churches whose doors are open around the clock.
Plan approximately 15 minutes per church for the visit.

Roadbook
We start our route at the Village Church Museum in Garitz.
The unique museum is located in the old starch factory and, together with the information point of the Fläming Nature Park and the festival barn, forms the cultural center of the village. The beautiful village church in Garitz is as historically significant as it is worth seeing. The country hotel in the village invites you to linger.
From here, the route continues to the district of Kleinleitzkau with the beautiful small village church “St. Michaelis”.
Shortly after leaving this district, there is a crossroads with agricultural paths. You turn right and ride along the connecting path to Bornum, and already from a distance, the village church can be seen.
In Bornum, we follow Lange Straße, which forms the village center, and reach a crossroads at the end. From here, turn left on a well-developed path through forest and fields to Mühlsdorf.
In the village, you will find signs for the country road towards Luso. Follow this road into the village of Luso and reach the Singing Book Church. Here, you can leaf through and browse many very old and new hymnals and Bibles from all over the world and, of course, sing.
From the church, go back a little and you will be at the village exit again. Immediately to the left is the connecting road to Bone. You cycle to the entrance to Bone, pass the village church, make a very small detour to the left, and then immediately right again. Directly at the corner, you will find the inn “Unter den Linden”, which invites you to stop for refreshments. Continue to the end of the street and the village area.
The street joining from the left leads towards Pulspforde, which you follow.
After about 1 km and overcoming a slight ascent, it quickly goes downhill again. At the end of the small hill, the street meets the Fläming cycle route, and you turn right. After about 1.6 km, a path leads left into the district of Bonitz. Here, take a small detour left to the village center and continue right, past the village church, to ride 300 m straight ahead on this path. Shortly after the silos on the right-hand side, turn right, continue straight ahead, and after just under 2 km above the village, reach the first junction to Trüben on the right side.
You enter the village after a few meters and turn left. Now there are only 250 m to the Easter Church Trüben. Both inside and outside the church, the passion of Christ is depicted in many stations. Panels on the church grounds provide information and explanations. Visiting the Easter Church is a special experience for which you should definitely take your time.
From here, continue outwards to the left towards Garitz. Just a few meters behind the Trüben village sign, a well-developed path leads left to Gollbogen (about 3.5 km). Shortly before the junction into state road L 121, it goes right in a hairpin bend, and this way leads after about 2.6 km to the village of Mühro.
From Mühro, cycle another 1.4 km on the country road to Polenzko to the Christmas Church. The Christmas Church is widely known because it houses the largest wooden nativity scene in Germany and depicts the biblical Christmas story.
From Polenzko, follow the well-signposted Fläming cycle route with its own tour logo back to Garitz, and you are again at the start of the cycling route.
