Die spätromanische Feldsteinkirche aus dem 14. Jahrhundert war 1610 baufällig, der Turm einsturzgefährdet. Im 30-jährigen Krieg wurde sie zusätzlich verwüstet. 1741 wurde sie umgebaut im Stil des Barock (Inschrift innen über dem Portal). Das heutige Mansarddach und der Fachwerkturm wurden aufgesetzt. Im Chorbereich wurde das Mauerwerk durch einen Fachwerkanbau ersetzt. 1901 wurde die Kirche renoviert, Gestühl und Kanzel ersetzt. Im 20. Jahrhundert wurden verschiedene Änderungen vorgenommen, die Kanzel 1976 entfernt. Zuletzt erfolgten 1997/98 umfangreiche Sanierungsarbeiten und am 5. April 1998 wurde die Kirche feierlich wieder eingeweiht.
An der Decke findet man drei große ovale Deckengemälde aus dem 18. Jahrhundert mit Darstellungen der Musik (nahe der Westempore), der Taufe (nahe des Portals, über dem ehemaligen Standort des Taufsteins) und des Heiligen Geistes (nahe des Altares). Der Altar wurde 1708 von Heinrich Ludewig von Davier gestiftet. Auf dem Tafelbild sind zwei Szenen gleichzeitig dargestellt: die Kreuzigung Christi und darunter die Anbetung der Hl. Drei Könige, die flankiert werden vom Stifter mit seinen Söhnen links und seiner Frau mit den Töchtern gegenüber. Neben dem Altar sind drei mannshohe Grabplatten der Davier in die Wand eingelassen: eine stark verwitterte Inschriftenplatte aus dem 17. Jahrhundert und zwei Platten mit lebensgroßen Reliefs von Rittern, 1701 und 1731 verstorben (rechts der Stifter des Altares).
Eine Glocke mit bisher nicht entschlüsselter Inschrift stammt aus dem 14. Jahrhundert.
