Schiltach - Kinzigtal and Black Forest Heights

Schiltach – Schenkenzell – Rötenberg

The start of the route is in the town center of Schiltach. It goes uphill along the main road out of the town, following the Kinzigtal cycle path.
From the town exit, a roadside cycle path leads to Schenkenzell. In Schenkenzell, turn right over the Kinzig and continue following the Kinzigtal cycle path towards Alpirsbach.

The B294 makes a long left curve. Turn right there and steeply uphill into the "Grubersgrund." At the four-way intersection, turn right towards "Holzebene" and continue uphill along the road. At the top, go straight ahead and at the fork veer slightly right into "Zuberallmend" street.

Rötenberg – Zollhaus – Schiltach

In Rötenberg, take the first street on the right into "Waldweg" and pass above the school. Go straight to the district road and turn right onto it. Follow the road around the left curve and turn right at the farm, steeply downhill on the road to Schiltach.

At the fork before the turnoff to the white cross and the 18% gradient sign, take the slightly right forest path and around the right curve. Follow the forest path into the valley. At the town entrance, go straight ahead to the T-junction, turn left there, and then the next left again into "Staigstraße." Follow this back into the town center.
